This page provides a repository of all the old What’s New entries for 2025, in reverse chronological order. If you really have a desire for the older entries, then the links below will get you access to all those that I’ve saved. They are unlikely to be of any great interest, but do provide a picture of how the site has developed over the twenty-five years it has been here. Please bear in mind that links to external sites may have atrophied over time and thus you may see ‘not found’ or similar errors when trying to follow them, especially the further back in time the link was first created.

With both the slated second and third games of the season called off due to a lack of players on our part (we had just three for the first weekend in May) our visit to Dormansland last Sunday became the second game of the season to be played and the Badgers notched up a second win of the year against our longest standing opponent (62 matches over 63 years). The usual summarised details of the game can be found on the results page along with a statistical notes only match report, the detailed scorecard, and the traditional Badgers’ focused scorecard.
The table of bowling spells starting with five maidens in the Churchleigh match report has been finished off, as best as I can manage given the information available to me, with a couple of instances from the early 2000s.

It is with great sadness that I have to report the passing of a Badgers stalwart, and indeed legend. Brian Moore fell just short of 84 years old on 16th March and several Badgers attended his funeral. In addition to being possibly the finest all round cricketer to ever play for the club he was also a gentle man with not a touch of arrogance about his skills and a quick look at this week’s match report will give you a flavour of his significance to the club on the field.
The new season kicked off with a new fixture against Churchleigh in the green and pleasant surroundings of Greatpark in Chelsham near Warlingham. Whilst almost entirely automated these days the start of a new season brings significant changes to the site, many of them hidden under the covers. I have looked over almost everything affected but if I have missed anything please don’t be backward in coming forward to let me know about it.

The 2025 season hopefully kicks off tomorrow afternoon and I have rather belatedly managed to get the fixtures added to both our Play-Cricket site and the fixtures page here.
I should also have updated the Honours Board cup winners page following the presentation of the awards at the dinner last November but outside of the statistics derived cup winners I cannot for the life of me remember who won what!?.
The next update to the site will almost certainly be after the first game of the season has been played, which enables me to roll everything over to the new season in terms of adding 2025 pages for the week-to-week detail.
