At the tea interval of the 1989 President’s match, in front of the pavilion at
the Seeboard ground, Burford Bridge, Saturday 15th July 1989. The President’s XI
gather before the start of their innings, ready to set off in pursuit of the
current XI’s total of 152 (see the other photograph of the pair for details of that innings). Openers Steve
Pitts (15) and Roy Gordon (13) would not last long, but an unbroken
123 run third wicket partnership between Robin Suggate (44 no.) and
Alan Tickner (77 no.) would see the President’s side home with half of
the last twenty overs still to be bowled.
