At the tea interval of the 1984 President’s match, on the outfield at the
Seeboard ground, Burford Bridge, Saturday 23rd June 1984. Both teams gather
together between innings, although Brian Moore and Barry Passmore seem to have
gone missing. The President’s XI had just been dismissed for 155, with opener
Alan Tickner last man out and top scorer with 70. A sixth wicket stand of 103
with Allan Butt (64) accounted for the bulk of the runs. Dave Clark had taken
3 for 32 and Lee Foster 3 for 21. The Current XI went on to win by five wickets
thanks to Roy Fletcher (37), Dave Tickner (47 no.) and Simon Fox (28 no.) with
the latter pair enjoying an unbeaten sixth wicket partnership of 53.
