At the tea interval of the 1983 President’s match, on the outfield at the
Seeboard ground, Burford Bridge, Sunday 26th June 1983. Both teams gather
together between innings on a warm and tiring afternoon. The Badgers Past had
just been dismissed for 118, with Steve Goldman top scoring on 41 and Steve Card
and Steve Fordham leading the bowling attack with 3 for 13 and 4 for 40
respectively. The Badgers Present went on to win by 3 wickets, with Dave
Bowerman of all people leading the batting side with 39, Steve Card and Dave
Clark (34 no.) sharing an unbeaten 54 run eighth wicket partnership, and Brian
Moore (who else) leading the bowling side with 4 for 21 (from a mere 14 overs).
