22nd July 2000 – an historic day for yours truly as not only was it the first
time that my son Darrell had played for the Badgers, but also the first time
that three generations of the same family had turned out for the club. Added
poignancy stems from the fact that all three are direct descendants of the
club’s first president, Frank Butt, and that on this particular day Allan was 60
years old, I was 40 and Darrell was 10 – a nice bit of symmetry.
