Scrawled on the back of this photograph, in what I believe is Dave Tickner’s
handwriting, it says “v Dormansland (early 80’s) Chris Morgan awaits arrival of
no 3 bat – could this really be Steve’s rear profile!!” and I believe that sums
up the situation fairly well. However, I am unable to pin down exactly which
game it refers to, partly because the 1981 scorebook has gone astray, and partly
because even without it there are two other candidates.
